Reidar Langmo (Partner and CEO)
Reidar is a founding partner and CEO of Novus with over a decade of clean energy expertise. He was one of the founders of both ScanWafer (1994) and REC (2000), which yielded one of the world's leading solar companies. Reidar held positions as chairman and CEO both in REC and its subsidiaries. He played a key role in connection with REC's strategic acquisitions of ASiMI's silicon plants both in 2002 and 2005. In 2006 REC had the most successful clean energy IPO to date with an ~$8B market cap. Reidar holds an MSc from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Dr. James Lyons (Partner and CTO)
Jim is a founding partner and CTO of Novus. He was previously a Chief Engineer at GE's Corporate R&D Center and technology leader for a global R&D team in Germany, US, India, & China. Jim championed renewable energy within GE, co-leading GE's entry into wind energy and serving as post-acquisition CTO - GE's most successful new growth business with over $4B in revenues. He has also led new business development teams in digital energy, waste gasification, and hybrid electric vehicles. Jim has served on the boards of GE Powerex and the Electric Drive Trade Assoc. Jim has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. He has authored more than 25 technical papers and holds more than 30 patents registered in the US.

Martin Aares (Partner)
Martin is a founding partner of Novus. He was previously a Senior VP at GE Energy Financial Services with primary focus on equity investments in the wind, solar, biomass, and the biofuels segments. Martin also co-led GE's carbon offset business through its joint venture with AES Corp. Prior to GE, he was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs working primarily with Natural Resources and Energy companies. Martin was also a VP with Stern Stewart & Company, a management consulting firm, where he led the firm's Scandinavian team. He holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mark Huang (Partner)
Prior to co-founding Novus, Mark was a Senior VP at GE Energy Financial Services, primarily focused on venture investments in the clean energy, transportation and water sectors. Mark's New Energy venture investments include Silicon Energy, Catalytic Solutions, Ocean Power Delivery, Think and A123 Systems. Mark also worked with GE Corporate business development teams in photovoltaics and hybrid electric transportation. In 2003, Mark served as an officer in the US Army Reserves in Iraq where he led nation building missions as well as efforts to restructure Iraq's state-owned-enterprise sector. Mark holds a BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute and an MBA and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University.

Nicholas Perrins (Partner and CFO)
Nicholas is a founding partner and CFO of Novus. Since 1996, Nicholas has managed an investment management firm, now called Dyson Capital Advisors, which works with high net worth families. Dyson oversees investment decisions, portfolio construction and risk management. Since 2004, Nicholas also serves as CFO and co-founder of X-10 Capital Partners, a long-short equity hedge fund. For X-10, Nicholas oversees the accounting and risk management functions. Nicholas holds a BS in Finance from Boston University.

John Torvik (Partner)
Prior to joining Novus, John served as VP/GM of Advanced Power Technologies (APTI). Prior to APTI, he was the co-founder and CEO of PowerSicel, Inc, a successful power semiconductor start-up company, which he managed from inception through acquisition. John began his professional career at Astralux, Inc, where he rose to VP of New Products. He also previously held a part-time EE faculty position at the Univ. of Colorado. John is currently a Director at Megawatt Solar and Stellaris. John has a BA in Physics from St. Olaf College, an MEEE from Cornell University and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado.

Jay Tannon (Partner and General Counsel)
Jay is a founding partner of Novus. Jay helps lead the private equity and energy practices at DLA Piper, one of the world's largest law firms. Jay counsels private equity funds and other businesses on acquisitions and other strategic transactions. Jay has been selected for many years by the legal services industry publication "Best Lawyers in America". Prior to joining DLA Piper, Jay held leadership positions at Pillsbury Winthrop LLP and Frost Brown Todd LLC. Among his academic accomplishments, he received his law degree from the University of Virginia and a BA from the University of North Carolina.

Mark Conroy (Executive in Residence)
Mark joined Novus in January 2009 after 28 years of global sales, service and operations experience at General Electric. Prior to his present role, he served as General Manager of GE Solar Technologies, one of the major PV solar companies in North America and serves as Vice Chairman on the Board of the Solar Energy Industries Association. Mark also held GE positions as Power Systems Executive & General Manager for GE Structured Services, Region Executive- N. Asia-Hong Kong, Region Executive- Western USA and GE Nuclear Services Executive. Mark was instrumental in the creation of a solar powered water filtration system that GE developed for the 2004 Asia Tsunami. Mark attended the University of Delaware and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on solar energy.

Michelle Rimmke (Accountant)
Michelle was previously an accountant at McCartney & Company, P.C., a certified public accounting firm in Okemos, Michigan. There she performed audit, bookkeeping and tax services primarily for telecommunications and non-profit companies. Michelle is a CPA and has a BA in Accounting from Hope College.

Christian Garcia (Senior Associate)
Christian was previously an associate with Simmons & Company International, an energy-focused investment bank, where he worked on energy service mergers and acquisitions. Prior to investment banking, Christian was an engineer with Boeing Phantom Works, where he worked on R&D projects for NASA and the Department of Defense in areas of next generation spacecraft design and development. Christian has also worked for Schlumberger, conducting research in areas of magnetic levitation technologies. Christian holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

Erik Bjorstad (Senior Associate)
Prior to joining Novus, Erik worked within Business Development in REC, one of the largest PV solar companies in the world, focusing on growth strategy and new business opportunities. Before REC, Erik worked as a management consultant at Arkwright Norway AS. From Arkwright, Erik has experience from several sectors such as private equity, oil & gas, retail banking and medical appliances. Erik holds an MS in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
